Site Council

 

To all parents, Los Cerros is looking for representatives for School Site Council for the 2019-2020 school year.  We are seeking a School Site Council President and at least three more parents to sit on the council.  We meet six times per year for approximately 45 minutes to an hour.  Please email Evan Powell at epowell@srvusd.net if you are interested in one of these positions.

Leadership News

 

  • BLUE 6th Grade and GREEN 7th grade elective sheets are due this Friday.  6th Grade students turn them into you Core Teacher, 7th Grade students turn them into your Science teacher.
  • If you are going on the GATE field trip on Tuesday and you are applying for Leadership be sure to sign up for Ms. Tittle's ACCESS on Thursday.  All others need to sign up for Ms. Tittle's ACCESS class for tomorrow, Tuesday 3/19 to turn in your application and write the essay.
  • There will be a March Madness basketball bracket contest starting on Wednesday.  We will pass out a bracket to each homeroom that you can fill out.  To fill out, you will pick a team for each game and write the team that you picked to win on the next line until there is only 1 team remaining.  You will be competing against the other homerooms for homeroom points.

CJSF

 

Our next CJSF meeting will be in the Gym on Thursday March 21st, during our Access period.  If you applied, please make sure your name on on the CJSF list posted in the Gym.  Please sign up for Mrs. Klopstock's Access class.

Los Cerros Talent Show

 

The talent show is on 3/28 at 7:00pm in the MPR.  Auditions will be held on March 11th after school from 2:30-3:30pm in the MPR.  All types of talents are accepted.  Usually, we have singers, dancers, musicians (piano, guitar, violin, cello, etc.)  Comedians (for the MC/Host), but we will also take poetry, drama (monologues, speeches, etc), or anything else school appropriate.  Please see Mrs. Bloom for more information.

 

After School Sports

Interested in participating in Badminton after school?  Please come the informational meeting in the gym on Tuesday, March 4 right after school.  We will hold the buses a few mins for students attending the meeting.

Have you heard of the SRVEF Teacher Grant Program or Chevron Fuel Your School?  These grant programs are run through DonorsChoose.org and, if funded, directly impact the schools, students & staff within SRVUSD.  Your Los Cerros teachers have been working hard to create projects that will support the learning experience of our LC students.  Check out all the ideas we are hoping to have funded on our LCMS Donors Choose Page.  LCMS teachers are always thinking up great classroom projects to promote excellence at Los Cerros!!

 


LOS CERROS BOOSTERS

 

LCMS Academic Boosters are looking for a new President!  The President works closely with the experienced board and principal to help raise funds to support lower class sizes.  Due to term lengths, our current President cannot serve in the role, but she will stay on as VP to assist.  Interested in learning more?  Contact Liz Ball at lballsd@yahoo.com

Thank you to everyone who has donated to the LCMS Boosters Fund this year!  We are on track to meet our goal and fund classrooms.  If you have donated, remember to check with your employer for donation or volunteer matching grant programs.  Companies like Workday, Chevron, Kaiser, Wells Fargo, Salesforce, and many others will match your donations -- but submit this year!  You can find direct links to your employer by visiting srvef.org.

SRVEF – Tech Meet Up for Middle and High School Students

On March 1st, 2019, the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation Imagineering Program is hosting a Raspberry Pi Birthday Jam at Monte Vista High School!  Join us in celebrating the 7th birthday of the Raspberry Pi Micro-Computer!  This technology meet-up is a fun opportunity for our SRVUSD middle & high school students to learn more about these affordable devices and connect with like-minded people in a friendly environment. BTC Danville/Alamo League New Member Drive

 

Boys Team Charity is a volunteer service organization dedicated to developing an altruistic spirit in young men through active participation of parents and sons in philanthropic projects in their communities.

 

If you know of any 6th Grade (Class of 2025) or older boys (up to high school students) who are interested in becoming members of BTC Alamo/Danville League in the coming year, please instruct them to visit our website.  Click on New Member Application tab and complete the Prospective Member form.  Prospective Members can fill out this form anytime between now and March 11th.  Just a gentle reminder: New members need sponsors who are existing BTC members in order to enroll.
